Cafe 60
This is a low cost cafe for people 60 years old and above. It's open Wednesday and Fridays from 12noon to 1pm. Last food orders are taken at 12.45pm. The menu changes daily and we serve sandwiches, warm baguettes and jacket potatoes with various fillings, cake, fruit, and tea and coffee.
There is no need to book and you can order as little or as much as you like.
A typical day's menu:
- Tomato soup with roll - 50p
- Jacket potato with either: beans, cheese, tuna mayonnaise - £1.20
- Baguettes/Sandwiches with either: cheese salad, prawn mayonnaise, salmon and cream cheese - £1.20
- Lemon Madeira cake or fruit salad - 20p
- Tea/Coffee - 10p
Volunteers Needed!
Cafe 60 is volunteer run with support from the centre staff. We need volunteers to be available from 11am - 1.30pm to help with setting up, preparation, serving food and clearing away.
You do not need to have catering experience, but you do need to have a caring and cheerful attitude. A free lunch is provided as is reasonable travel experiences. To find out more click here.
